New Asante Kotoko coach David Duncan says leading the side to the group stage of this season’s CAF Champions League tops his priority list.

The 51-year-old was unveiled as the new coach of the side on Thursday after inking a two-year deal to become the substantive replacement for Mas-Ud Dramani.

Duncan takes over a side that is running low on confidence especially in the Ghanaian Premier League where Kotoko are currently in the relegation zone.

Kotoko however appear to be in a good position to progress further in the preliminary stages of the CAF Champions League having secured a goalless draw in the first leg of their away game against Algerian club MC El Eulma.

David Duncan who is yet to win a major silverware in his coaching career says his prime focus will be to lead the side to the group stage of the continental club competition.

“Reaching the money zone or the group stages of the Champions League is my biggest target,” he said.

The former Hearts of Oak trainer returns to active coaching having been out of the game for close to two years.
