Ndidi's release clause could be activated

Wilfred Ndidi's Leicester City contract contains a £9 million relegation release clause, which has been triggered after the Foxes' relegation to the Championship, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The 26-year-old didn't take the opportunity to leave on a free transfer last summer, instead signing a new three-year deal.

Leicester City also turned down a bid from Monaco in January.

Now, the central midfield player, according to the BBC, could be on his way out of the club.

Ndidi has played 27 times for Leicester City this season.
