Feyenoord has still received the green light to move the match against Heracles Almelo. The team from Rotterdam first received zero claims when they wanted to move the game, because the Conference League will already be played against Maccabi Haifa on Tuesday, but in the end permission was received from all parties.
The KNVB has announced this. Feyenoord starts the Conference League with the away game against the Israeli Maccabi Haifa, but because of the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur, it cannot be played on the regular Thursday evening. Because Feyenoord played another match in the Eredivisie on Sunday afternoon, it clashed with the match in the group stage. The KNVB wanted the game to be played earlier in the same weekend, Feyenoord bet on Wednesday evening, December 1.
The team from Rotterdam was eventually vindicated, so that the club is only active on Tuesday after the international break and in Europe after the international break. "After careful consideration of the above special circumstances and consultation with the Eredivisie CV, the KNVB has concluded that a one-time move to another moment in the competition program is justified," the Dutch Football Association writes about the move.
The club had several reasons for the move, for example because Colombian strongman Luis Sinisterra could not be available on September 12 (Saturday). This in turn has to do with the corona regulations, as a result of which the Premier League clubs, for example, came to a boycott. Feyenoord is in any case satisfied with this move. In response to agreements in the change agenda, the KNVB has indicated that it will cooperate with such requests, and that is what has happened.
