Coach Didier Deschamps called up a quartet of uncapped youngsters to replace Olivier Giroud in the France team selected on Thursday for a triple-header of World Cup qualifiers in September.
Giroud, who will turn 35 next month, is left out despite being five goals short of Thierry Henry's all-time record of 51 goals for Les Bleus.
In pursuit of regular first-team action, the center-forward left Chelsea this summer to join AC Milan. On Sunday, he made his debut for his new club, as they defeated Sampdoria in the first game of the new Serie A season.
