Canada's chances of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar were boosted at BMO Field in Toronto on Wednesday night.

In the third match of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, Canada defeated El Salvador 3-0 with goals from Atiba Hutchinson and Jonathan David in the first 11 minutes.

Coach John Herdman made six changes from the team that faced the United States in Nashville on Sunday, the most notable of which was Alphonso Davies.

After suffering a knee injury in the 1-1 draw, the Bayern Munich star went to Germany for treatment and was replaced by Junior Hoilett.
