Napoli Set for Anxious Wait as Reports Suggest Striker Arkadiusz Milik Is Having Scans Amid ACL Fear

"?Serie A side Napoli are set for an anxious wait on the fitness of striker Arkadiusz Milik following reports that the player tore his ACL ligaments in his knee during international duty with Poland.

The 22-year-old was representing his country in a World Cup qualifier group match against Denmark, however the Napoli hit-man left the field at half time and remained on the bench after a knock to his left knee.

According to "?Football Italia, the player spoke to reporters after leaving the pitch, suggesting that he was going to have some tests, and that he hopes it is not too serious. However, following the club releasing a statement revealing the player was set to have MRI scans to see the extent of the injury, initial thoughts are that it doesn't look good for the former Ajax forward.

There are fears that the player has torn his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, which would require immediate surgery, followed by several months out of action, and possibly not playing for the Italian giants for the rest of the season.

Napoli's Higuain replacement, Arkadiusz Milik, is out for the rest of the season after picking up a knee injury with Poland.

Since his move to the club this summer, the Polish international has made a sensational start to his time in Naples, scoring seven goals in nine matches, however it appears that his momentum has been abruptly ended by an unfortunate injury.

Despite not being able to add another player who is out of contract to their Champions League match day squad, it has been reported that the club are looking at a number of alternatives, and according to a separate report from "?Football Italia, the list includes former Arsenal strikers Emmanuel Adebayor and Marouane Chamakh, as well as former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.
