Napoli were held to a 3-3 draw by Roma in the eighth round of the Italian championship after twice allowing a two-goal advantage to slip away.
Frank Anguissa put the hosts ahead in the 28th minute, before Scott McTominay doubled Napoli’s lead shortly after half-time, scoring in the 48th minute.
Roma responded strongly and reduced the deficit when Matias Soule found the net in the 69th minute. Five minutes later, Leonardo Balerdi equalised to make it 2-2.
McTominay restored Napoli’s lead in the 83rd minute with his second goal of the match. The home side appeared set to secure victory, but Balerdi scored again in the 89th minute to rescue Roma from defeat.
The result means Roma extended their unbeaten run in the current Serie A season to eight matches.
