Negotiations between Napoli and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa have slowed significantly, with the two sides unable to agree on the midfielder’s financial terms.
The Cameroon midfielder is seeking a salary of almost 6 million euros per year, according to Ekrem Konur. Napoli’s current proposal is understood to be around 2.4 million euros lower than that figure, creating a substantial gap between the player’s expectations and the club’s offer.
That disagreement has prevented talks over a contract extension from making further progress. Anguissa remains under contract with Napoli until 2027, but the impasse has raised uncertainty over his long-term future at the club.
The 30-year-old currently earns an annual salary of 3,460,000 euros, equivalent to 2,249,000,000 FCFA, in Italy. His market value is estimated at 15 million euros by Transfermarkt.
If Napoli and Anguissa fail to reach an agreement, the midfielder could leave as a free agent when his contract expires in the summer of 2027. That possibility is already attracting interest from other clubs.
Inter Milan are among those monitoring the situation closely. The Italian club could consider making a move if Anguissa becomes available without a transfer fee at the end of his current deal.
For now, Napoli must decide whether to improve their proposal or risk allowing the negotiations to remain stalled. Anguissa’s contract situation will continue to be closely watched as the club’s position becomes clearer.
Napoli are due to play Frosinone in their sixth match of the Italian championship.
