The Nigeria Super Sand Eagles will not take part in the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations built to hold in Mozambique following withdrawal.
The withdrawal was confirmed following a revised fixture released by Africa Football Governing Body, CAF on Wednesday.
According to CAF "the withdrawal of Nigeria will see seven teams now compete for the ultimate prize at the fifth edition tournament.
Hosts Mozambique, Malawi and Morocco are the three (3) teams in Group A.
Meanwhile four teams make up Group B. These are Senegal, Uganda, Madagascar, and Egypt."
Nigeria had qualified following the withdrawal of Libya from the qualifiers.
However, there had been no sign to the team's readiness for the tournament. Hence, the withdrawal is not surprising.
Though there is yet to be an official statement from the body in charge of the Beach Soccer in the country.
The Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations will kick off on 21 October at Vilankulos Arena.
