Ghana midfielder Rabiu Mohammed insists he has no regrets with his decision to leave Evian TG for Kuban Krasnodar back in 2013.

The 25-year-old left the French club in search of greener pastures at the height of his individual form.

Rabiu had enjoyed a successful tournament debut with the Black Stars at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations where he became a revelation for Ghana.

His club form was also rising through the roof to attract several suitors abroad.

The decision to move to Russia to join Kuban Krasnodar left many of his fans disappointed with critics rightly predicting a dip in his form.

The fact that Russia had been an unkind haven for black players who often suffer racist abuse made Rabiu’s decision to join the Green and Yellows even more unpopular.

But the ex Udinese loanee insists his move to Russia was worth it.

“Leaving Evian for Kuban was worth it,” he said.

“The Russian league is strong. I’ve not faced racism in Russia, I really like the country.”

Rabiu remains in integral member of Kuban Krasnodar despite his struggles with injuries.
