A 77th minute header from Kenneth Omeruo helped the Super Eagles of Nigeria to a 1-0 win over Syli Nationale of Guinea and sealed their spot in the knockout round of the ongoing AFCON 2019
Nigeria dominated the early exchanges but fail to make their possession count with poor decision in the final third to play out an even first half as both teams head into the dressing room for the half time break tied at 0-0.
The second half was more of the same but this time around Nigeria showed more intention to score and that they did in the 77th minute when Omeruo headed home a well delivered cross from Moses Simon off a corner kick.
Omeruo got rewarded for his performance with the award of man of the match after the game, further highlighting his improvement after a solid display while on loan to Spanish side Levante from English Premier League side Chelsea
By virtue of the win, the Super Eagles become the first team to seal their spot in the round of 16 at the ongoing AFCON 2019 ?thanks to two 1-0 wins in their first two games
