The Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, departed for Libya on Sunday morning ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The team's chartered flight made a stopover in Kano before proceeding to Benghazi, avoiding the initially planned route through Tripoli.
The change in travel plans aims to minimize stress for players and officials.
The Super Eagles will face Libya's Mediterranean Knights at the 10,000-capacity Benina Stadium by 8pm on Tuesday, October 15.
