Moore's goal -- 20 seconds into the match -- was all the offense that the USMNT could muster against a Canadian side that had numerous chances and controlled possession throughout the game.
The U.S. looked to be in control early in the match but Walker Zimmerman's injury in the 15th minute forced Gregg Berhalter to go his bench early, allowing Canada to settle into the game.
Canada also lost a player in the first half when striker Ayo Akinola had to come off, with Jonathan Osorio coming on. Later in the second half, Lucas Cavallini had to replace playmaker Cyle Larin, who came off with a knock.
The U.S. looked disjointed throughout the match and was forced to play at times with 10 men, as both Daryl Dike and James Sands were forced off the field at different times with injuries.
With the win, the U.S. win Group B with nine points and await the runners-up of Group C for the quarterfinals. Canada will next play the winner of Group C.
