Monaco strengthened their position at the top of Ligue 1 by beating Lens as the French championship’s fifth round began.
The result took Monaco’s points total in the competition during the 2026 calendar year to 44, including the points they collected in the previous season. Only PSG have earned more over the same period, with 45 points.
Monaco will return to action in the sixth round against Toulouse at home on 10 October, following the break for international matches.
The club from the Principality last won the French championship in 2017.
