Ligue 1 club AS Monaco are interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi on loan, with a view to making the move permanent, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Monaco are keen to include a buy option in the loan deal, but transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano reports that Leicester City are not currently open to a temporary move.
"AS Monaco consider Wilfried Ndidi one of the main options on their list for the final days, but loan move with buy option clause is not easy at all," Romano wrote on X.
Ndidi, 27, signed a new three-year contract at Leicester City last summer and has been an important player for the Foxes this season, registering four assists in 15 league appearances.
The Nigeria international is currently recovering from an injury, but Monaco's interest suggests they believe he can make a significant impact at the Stade Louis II.
