Former coach Mohammed Polo is claiming credit for Hearts of Oak’s steady progress in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The club legend claims most of the players being used by Herbert Addo were ones he discovered during his short stint as coach of the side.

Polo’s short-term contract having replaced the more popular David Duncan was not renewed when it ended at the end of the last football season.

He was eventually replaced by Herbert Addo who appears to be winning back the confidence of the fans after enduring a difficult start.

But Mohammed Polo is claiming credit for the team’s steady rise especially in their Confederation Cup campaign.

“I have been very much impressed by the team’s progress in Africa,” he said.

“These are the players I brought to the club and so you can see that Hearts is benefitting from my hard work.

“But that is the world today. Others benefit from others’ toil.”

Hearts must now beat Tunisian giants Esperance over two legs to enter the group phase of the Confederation Cup.
