Seattle Sounders forward Raul Ruidiaz has been awarded the MLS Player of the Week for Week 19 after scoring a brace in his team's 6-2 Cascadia derby thrashing of the Portland Timbers.
As part of Seattle's dramatic second-half assault of four consecutive goals, the Peruvian forward scored his 12th and 13th goals of the season, vaulting him to the top of the Golden Boot presented by Audi race.
Ruidiaz has received Player of the Week accolades twice this season, most recently in Week 14 with his game-winning goal against Austin FC.
Along with head coach Brian Schmetzer, Ruidiaz was selected to the Week 19 Team of the Week presented by Audi.
Seattle, second in the Western Conference standings, return to action on Wednesday when traveling to face FC Dallas.
