Jordan Morris, a local product, is making progress in his recovery from ACL surgery. So much so that US men's national team winger Ryan O'Reilly is "ahead of the curve" in terms of his recovery, according to coach Brian Schmetzer.
Schmetzer told KJR via Sounder at Heart, "He needs to go through whatever process they have." “However, if it's safe to play, he'll be permitted to play, and the timeframe is now looking good.”
Morris, who was selected to the MLS Best XI winger a year ago, tore his ACL in late February while on loan with Swansea City.
The Sounders have overcome a slew of injuries, including those to Morris and Nicolas Lodeiro. They are currently in second place in the Western Conference, one point behind Sporting Kansas City.
