Gerrard recently revealed that he had received several offers after announcing his departure from the City of Angels, ranging from managerial to coaching to still playing, with various teams said to be in contact.

The 36-year-old played 17 seasons at Anfield, making over 710 appearances and winning eight trophies. He departed for the US last year, and after having an enjoyable stint in Los Angeles, he will be back on English soil in some role or the other.

The FA have made offers to both Gerrard and Frank Lampard, promising to fast-track their coaching badges in exchange for assisting with nurturing of England's youth. And the former Reds skipper is in the process of acquiring his UEFA A coaching license.

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has urged the Anfield side to re-sign the midfielder as a player-coach, but with a job already on the table, Gerrard may view MK Dons as his best option, given his managerial ambitions.

The side are in 21st place on the League One table at the moment with 17 points accrued. However, they still have a chance of a good finish, with just nine points separating them from the fifth-placed club.
