Kennedy Boboye, the head coach of Sunshine Stars, has attributed his team's loss to Sporting Lagos to missed opportunities, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Owena Waves suffered a 1-0 defeat against Sporting Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Tuesday, with Paschal Durugbor's solitary goal sealing victory for Paul Offor's side.

Despite the setback, Boboye praised his players for their performance.

”It's not the result we aimed for, considering how well we played, but such is football; we remain undeterred,” he stated in an interview with the club's media as per Daily Post.

"I'm focusing on the positives from the match. Derbies can be unpredictable, and our attention now shifts to our next game."

Sunshine Stars are sixth on the log, one pint away from relegation with their next fixture being against defending champions, Enyimba  at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure.
