Journalist Matteo Moretto reports that Amorim’s relationship with some of the club’s leading players has deteriorated. The players are said to have started questioning the coach’s approach, although Milan’s owner continues to support him.
The club’s leadership is currently understood to remain behind Amorim despite the concerns within the squad.
Milan’s latest result increased the pressure on the manager. They were beaten 2-0 at home by Benfica in the opening round of the Europa League league phase.
The team’s form in the Italian championship has also been disappointing. After four matches, Milan are sixth in the table with eight points.
