Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko have announced that midfielder Michael Akuffu has signed a one-year contract extension.
Akuffu’s current two-year contract will run out on August 13, 2015.
On Tuesday, the club and the player agreed on a fresh deal which will see him stay at the club until next year.
Both parties have refused to comment on details of the contract extension.
A statement on the club’s website: “Information picked by Asantekotokosc.com indicates that, the negotiation for the new deal was one of the toughest encountered by management but in the end a healthy compromise was reached by the two parties.”
Akuffu becomes the second Kotoko player in less than a week to renew his relationship with the club following that of Abeiku Ainooson.
