According to a report by Marca Claro, Club America would be close to a deal with 29 year-old midfielder Fernando Madrigal to strengthen the squad for the next Apertura 2021.
America's top brass were impressed by Madrigal's last two seasons with Queretaro FC, so they moved pretty quickly to negotiate a deal for the player. Even if the deal is not official yet, sources confirm that both parties are in advanced negotiations and the only things left to arrange would be some details between America and Queretaro. The Mexico City club could also decide to include Alonso Escoboza in the deal to further facilitate things.
This would be America's second acquisition, after that of Salvador Reyes; the club still needs to deal with some foreign players that are no longer in Santiago Solari's plans like Renato Ibarra and needs to focus on selling if they want to have the chance to sign new players in the upcoming weeks.
