Messi points Barcelona towards teenage Tijuana winger Gilberto Mora

Lionel Messi has reportedly recommended that Barcelona consider a move for 18-year-old Mexican winger Gilberto Mora, with the teenager attracting interest from several leading European clubs.

The Inter Miami forward, who spent much of his career at Barcelona, is said to have urged the Spanish champions to pursue Mora. The information was reported on social media by journalist Ekrem Konur.

Barcelona would face strong competition if they decide to act on the recommendation. Arsenal, Real Madrid and Liverpool are also reportedly involved in the battle for the Mexico international.

Mora currently plays in his homeland for Tijuana. His contract with the club runs until the end of June 2029, meaning Tijuana are under no immediate pressure to sell the player.

The 18-year-old’s current market value is estimated at €25m by Transfermarkt.
