Matvey Safonov was named Paris Saint-Germain’s highest-rated player by French newspaper L’Equipe after their 1-0 victory over Brest in the fourth round of Ligue 1.
The Russia international received a score of eight out of 10, the best mark awarded to any PSG player in the publication’s assessment of the match.
Safonov also kept his first clean sheet since the beginning of the 2026/2027 season. Before the game, he had conceded in six consecutive matches.
PSG secured a narrow win through Ferran Torres’ fifth-minute goal. Safonov made six saves and produced several important interventions to prevent Brest from scoring.
