New Edubiase United sensationally survived relegation from the Ghanaian top-flight after defeating Heart of Lions 4-2 in the Ghanaian Premier League top-liner at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
A brace each from Bernard Ofori and Fuseini Nuhu coasted the Movers to a memorable final day of the season victory over the Giant Killers and condemned them to relegation.
Lions goalkeeper Mozart Adjetey firmly stood between Edubiase and finding the back of the net but he was beaten a third straight attempt as Nuhu scored from close range after he had twice saved efforts from Ofori and Adjetey himself.
Adjetey mood after the ball hit his net somewhat demoralized him as he halted play for close to three minutes as he received attention from the medical team.
Lions tried to come into the game but Edubiase's surge and determination in the second-half was a bigger hurdle. Bernard Ofori put his name on the score-sheet and cushioned the lead for the Movers with a 57th minute effort.
Former Black Stars striker Sam Yeboah should have halved the deficit for Lions but he skied his effort. Nuhu added the third goal for Edubiase in the 61st minute before Lions scored a consolation.
Tanko Mohammed struck in the 75th minute but Ofori scored a world-class finish in the 80th minute but Osman Muntaka scored again for Lions.
Lions have joined Olympics and B/A United to return to the second-tier league.
