Tetteh Luggard cost Hearts of Oak

Goalkeeper Tetteh Luggard committed serious blunders which cost Hearts of Oak as they slipped to a 2-1 loss at the hands of Inter Allies at the Tema Park in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Allies worked tireless for their win but mostly it was the shambolic performance of Luggard that ensured Hearts lost the game. Inter Allies have ended Hearts of Oak's unbeaten run in the seven games.

The first goal scored by Ropapa Mensah was a goal he gifted the host. Poor communication between himself and defender Philip Boampong resulted with Ropapa stealing the ball and rolling it into the net.

Isaac Oduro bent a wonderful free-kick home to restore hopes for the Phobians but Luggard allowed Gockel Ahortor to steep a strike home without doing anything about his effort.

Ahortor was allowed some acres of space around goal and he cannoned a shot which was not the harmful shot a keeper could not save.

But he watched on as the ball ricocheted off the crossbar and went in.

Hearts were hoping the game as preparatory game for the tie against Senegalese side Olympique de Ngor but the results could demoralised the team.

Tetteh who took center-stage among the fans came in to replace Burkina Faso international keeper Abdoulaye Soulama who is away on international duty with the Stallions.

The results means Hearts of Oak have dropped into the relegation zone as they slipped to 14th place on the section.
