Aduana Stars kept their sights firmly fixed on the Ghana Premier League title after defeating relegation-bound regional rivals Brong Ahafo United 1-0 at the Coronation Park in Sunyani on Sunday.
Striker Richard Arhin struck the opener for Kwabena Ameyaw's side with a well-taken 19th minute penalty which dampened the home fans.
With the Apostles' return to the wilderness almost certain, Aduana capitalised on their season's poor record to put themselves in pole position to fight leaders AshantiGold for the title.
Aduana made early intentions by piling enormous pressure on their host as their travelling fans cheered them on to to go for an early kill.
Their pressure paid off as the hosts' defence committed a foul inside the box and earned a penalty. Arhin stepped up and expertly struck home for his 9th league goal of the season.
With Berekum Chelsea succumbing to a home 1-1 home draw with Medeama SC, Aduana have now gone three points within the reach of leaders AshantiGold and keep their sights on a second title win.
