Granada FC attacker Clifford Aboagye put up an impressive show for Ghana as the Black Satellites claimed sweet revenge over Mali by beating them 3-1 at the 2015 African Youth Championship in Senegal.
The 20-year-old claimed a ball around the center and went on a solo run, outpacing three Malian defenders before bravely approaching the box and shrugging off a defender and forcing a ball past the Malian keeper for the third goal.
Before Aboagye's solo finish, Manchester City starlet Yaw Yeboah had grabbed a brace to put Ghana 2-0 ahead. Yeboah's second of the evening was hallmark of great talent. The 18-year-old controlled a pass inside the box before slickly bending the ball to beat the onrushing keeper.
After Ghana had gone 3-0 ahead and had two decent penalty appeals turned down, the Malian reduced the deficit after the Ghana keeper misjudged his run and got picked out by a long range pass from midfield.
Mali were given late hope to further slash down the deficit when they were awarded a penalty but the forward who stepped up saw his kicked palmed away by the Ghana keeper.
