The freshly assembled Nigeria U-17 team are gradually becoming the toast of Abuja due to their exciting brand of football laced with goals. Aside scoring goals for fun and conceding few in return, the young lads have so far keep the fans coming to their game with some piece of individual skills and breathtaking team moves.
Sia1 academy, the nursery team of the coach of Nigeria U-23s Samson Siasia are the second team to suffer a heavy defeat in the hands of the U-17 who are preparing for their Africa Youth Championship qualifiers game against Niger next month.
They started their friendly games with a 6-0 of Santos of Suleja and their latest game which was concluded around 1pm Nigeria time saw them thrash Sia1 Academy 5-0 at the FIFA Goal Project in Abuja.
Playing without their head coach Manu Garba who traveled to his hometown in Gombe State for the wedding of his son, the Nigeria team would have won by a wider margin were it not for their poor conversion rate in front of goal.
So far they have scored 11 goals and are yet to concede, a testament of their all attacking style of play which the head coach of the team is known for.
