Published on: 23 September 2026

Disappointment among Manchester United supporters is growing as Michael Carrick struggles to establish a convincing style of play, despite the club’s successes during the second half of last season.

Some fans have begun looking back fondly on former manager Ruben Amorim. A social media hashtag calling for the Portuguese coach to return to Manchester United has gained momentum and has been used more than 125,000 times, according to derbyderbyderby.it.

Amorim managed Manchester United from autumn 2024 until January 2026. He is now in charge of Italian club AC Milan.
