Manchester United are exploring a move for Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta, according to TEAMtalk.
The 29-year-old France striker has emerged as a possible target as Manchester United look to add another forward and increase competition for Sesko.
Mateta is reportedly being monitored by the club’s sporting director, Jason Wilcox. However, Manchester United are understood to have a limited budget for a striker, with strengthening their midfield currently the main priority.
Preliminary contact has already taken place between Manchester United and Mateta’s representatives, the report says.
Mateta has made only one appearance for Crystal Palace this season, featuring in the opening round of the Premier League before suffering an injury.
His market value is estimated at 30 million euros by Transfermarkt.
