English Premier League giants Manchester City have turned down the opportunity to bring Nigeria international Mfon Udoh to The Etihad.

The Enyimba star was proposed to The Citizens by United Kingdom-based intermediary Frankie Stephen, better known as the representative of Flying Eagles striker Bernard Bulbwa.

Stephen has a good rapport with Manchester City higher-ups and helped broker the deal that took Nigeria U20 international Chidiebere Nwakali to City in 2014, and earlier offered his major client Bulbwa to the club prior to his move to Esperance.

This time around, Manchester City were uninterested in signing Mfon Udoh as he didn’t have the profile of attackers they were in the market for and would have been ineligible to be granted a work permit by the Home Office.

The 24-year-old set a record as the highest goalscorer in a single season in the Nigeria Professional Football League in 2014.
