"?Manchester United reserve manager Warren Joyce has tipped 18-year-old Axel Tuanzebe for stardom, and claims that the youngster is a symbol of what the club stands for.

Tuanzebe, who can operate both in midfield and defence, has made a great start to the season and made two appearances for the England Under-20 side during the past week.

He was a star turn for the Under-21s at United, but was made captain of the reserve team - after James Weir departed for Hull City - having impressed and earned the praise of first-team boss Jose Mourinho.

"I think Axel really epitomises the traits we've had from all our captains,"? Joyce told the club's official website.

"We could have had one of the older ones as captain who might then possibly go out on loan, so it's better to have one who's staying in the group.

"Axel's only young and the captaincy puts demands on him, but it's helped develop him as a person as well."?

The 18-year-old is the standout performer for the reserve side this season. He has been consistently great at the back for his side, using his strength, intelligence and speed to good effect.

"He has no qualms when it comes to captaining the side, and doesn't seem at all phased in his role as skipper."

"You can play 90 minutes or one minute; sometimes one minute is enough,"? Mourinho said following a friendly win over Wigan during pre-season in July.

"With Axel, ten minutes is enough! The potential is there, you see it immediately."?
