Top transfer insider David Ornstein has revealed that Victor Osimhen is not a target for Manchester United in the upcoming summer window, despite persistent speculation linking the Super Eagles striker with a move to Old Trafford, writes NigeriaSoccernet.com.
Instead, United are focused on signing Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, who reportedly has a £30 million release clause that becomes active if the club is relegated from the Premier League.
“In the striker position, it’s Liam Delap of Ipswich Town as their number one target,” Ornstein confirmed on NBC Sports Soccer.
He added that Delap is also on Chelsea’s radar, and a decision on his future is expected before the UEFA U21 European Championship.
Ornstein was firm on Osimhen’s situation, saying:
“If Manchester United are to look at others, I’m assured it will NOT be Victor Osimhen, despite reports you might be reading. He is not on the agenda for Manchester United.”
Osimhen, who has a high release clause in his Napoli contract, has long been linked with Premier League clubs, but this update suggests the Red Devils are opting for a younger and potentially more cost-effective option.
