Manchester City are reportedly leading Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool for Nigerian teenager Ibrahim Said.

Manchester City reportedly hope they can persuade Nigerian teenager Ibrahim Said to move to the Premier League in the coming months. The forward is also believed to be of interest ti City’s Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool.

Said impressed at the recent Under-17 World Cup in Brazil, where he scored a hat-trick against Ecuador.

He is currently with the Dabo Babes Academy but has attracted interest from across Europe.

Portuguese giants Porto and Sporting Lisbon are believed to be keen though TEAMtalk claim City are hopeful of persuading Said to move to England.

Said has been in Europe recently, attending the Ballon d’Or awards after being nominated for a goal of the tournament award from the U-17 World Cup.

And though Manchester City have been linked with the young star, manager Pep Guardiola recently suggested he will not be busy in January’s transfer window.

The Spaniard said: "The players who start the season will finish the season. No business."

For United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, January could be busier though the Norwegian isn’t in a rush to make signings.

He said: “We’re looking to strengthen in many positions.

“If you look at our squad compared to the others, we’re getting there but we still need two or three players to have a squad with enough numbers to rotate throughout a long season, so we’ll see what we sign.

“I didn’t say January did I? I said going forward. Targets that we’re looking at, they’re long-term targets.

“If there’s something popping up that might be as a short-term, maybe. But we’re always thinking long term.

“United are the biggest and best in the world and I’m sure there’s so many players in the world who want to be part of the rebuild.

Our players and fans enjoy our football and opposition players will like to be part of it as well.”

Manchester United take on Everton this afternoon while Manchester City head to Arsenal.

City are looking to bounce back from defeat against United last week.

Arsenal are hoping to make it back to back wins in the Premier League having beaten West Ham on Monday.
