Neom defender Malang Sarr was reportedly confronted by a group of men who demanded payment of a commission during the Saudi club’s pre-season training camp in Marbella, according to L’Equipe.
The 27-year-old was having dinner with two team-mates at a luxury hotel when a black van arrived at the restaurant. Several men reportedly got out and insisted that a particular commission be paid to their employer.
The incident is said to have taken place shortly after Sarr joined Neom from Lens. Initial reports suggest it may have been connected to a change of representative or the defender’s decision to stop using certain intermediaries during his most recent transfers.
Sarr has not publicly commented on the incident.
The Frenchman began his career with Nice before later playing for Chelsea and Monaco. He joined Lens prior to his move to Neom.
