In an interview with ESPN, Galaxy General Manager Dennis Te Kloese weighed in on the Efrain Alvarez situation and the rumors surrounding the young Mexican future:

"There are several European Clubs that inquired about him" declared  Te Kloese, who added about rumors regarding an interest from Mexican giants Club Guadalajara "if there was a real interest (from Chivas) I could give you my opinion, but there is nothing there. I was a little bit surprised by the news that came out, even with a supposed figure and what we were asking for him, was it a joke?" Te Kloese added that they are very happy with Alvarez' progress, a player that Galaxy have been developing in their Academy and that is still very young at 18. He added that whatever decision Alvarez takes regarding his future, the Club will not interfere; Alvarez is already at the center of a National Team dispute between Mexico and USMNT, since he is eligible to play for both teams, being born in the U.S. from Mexican parents.
