Parma came from behind to draw 1-1 with Monza on Sunday, 6 September, as both sides claimed their first point of the 2026/27 Italian Championship campaign.
The two teams met at Parma’s home ground in the third round, but neither could find a winning goal after the hosts’ second-half equaliser.
Monza took the lead in the 38th minute. Ricardo Mangas supplied the pass, and Jay Robinson finished the move by putting the ball into the net.
That goal gave the visitors a 1-0 advantage at half-time. Parma were unable to respond before the interval, leaving Monza ahead after an opening period in which the scoreline changed only once.
The home side restored parity 15 minutes after the restart. Simone Lontani produced a precise finish in the 60th minute to make it 1-1 and put Parma back into contention for a victory.
Parma then attempted to complete the turnaround during the remaining stages of the match. The hosts pushed for a second goal, but Monza resisted their efforts and the visitors avoided conceding again.
There were no further changes to the scoreboard, with the contest ending level. The result means Parma and Monza remain separated by one place in the early league standings, although they have identical records after three rounds.
Parma have one point and occupy 15th position in the Italian Championship table. Monza also have one point, but are 16th.
The draw leaves both clubs still waiting for their first win of the 2026/27 campaign. Parma had home advantage and recovered from falling behind, but could not turn Lontani’s equaliser into a decisive result. Monza, meanwhile, will take encouragement from going in front through Robinson, though they were unable to protect that lead after the interval.
With the two sides level on points and close together in the table, the meeting ended with neither team able to gain a significant early advantage.
