"?Young Liverpool midfielder Cameron Brannagan is on the verge of signing for Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan deal, according to "?reports.
Wigan have been in hot pursuit of the 20-year old since the beginning of the summer transfer window.
And now, the Latics look set to finally land their man, with "?TeamTalk claiming that a loan deal has been agreed with Liverpool.
The Reds are happy to send Brannagan out on loan in order for him to gain vital first-team experience in the Championship.
The Liverpool youth graduate is highly-rated on Merseyside, with boss Jurgen Klopp giving him his first taste of first-team action last season, selecting him to play in nine games, including three in the Premier League.
Judging by Twitter activity, Randall and Brannagan on loan shouldn't be far away #wafc
But with Liverpool being active in the summer transfer window so far, the likelihood of Brannagan earning a starting role in the coming season remains unlikely, which is why both Liverpool and Wigan are happy to strike a deal on loan, with Brannagan set to return to the Reds for the 2017/18 campaign.
Midfield signings Georginio Wijnaldum and Marko Grujic have pushed Brannagan further down the pecking order at Anfield, paired with the fact that Liverpool have no European competitions to compete in, meaning that squad depth is less important this year than last.
Wigan did previously try to land the 20-year-old on a permanent basis, but their "?£1m bid was quickly rebuffed by Liverpool.
