L’Équipe report tonight that Reims defender Logan Costa is closing in on a move to Ligue 2 side Toulouse, with the two clubs coming to an agreement in principle in the last few hours.
The 20-year-old, who was under contract until the end of the current campaign, had impressed over the course of a loan spell last season with Le Mans in French football’s third tier.
Costa had also attracted interest from Italy for his signature, but the player himself favoured a move to another French club, in search of more playing time over the short term. Toulouse had been keeping tabs on the centre-back for the last few weeks – and more generally at other young talents – as they look to add to their defensive recruits after the arrival of Rasmus Nicolaisen from FC Midtjylland.
