Ligue 1: Moses Simon snatches maximum points for Nantes

Published on: 09 December 2024

Nigeria's Moses Simon earned all three points for FC Nantes in the Derby Breton against 10-man Stade Rennais in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Super Eagles forward's late goal settled a cagey encounter as Nantes piped the hosts 0-1 at the Stade de la Beaujoire - Louis Fonteneau

A strong first half saw nothing to choose between the two sides as the hosts had a casualty in Mikayil Faye who was given the marching order for his tackle on Kelvin in the 45th minute.

The two teams continued to neutralize each other until the 89th minute when Simon broke the deadlock for the Yellow and Green team.

He took the ball from the right, going past two defenders before putting it at the top corner of the net to leave the away crowd in a frenzy.

The Nigerian winger now has eight goal involvements (4 goals, 4 assists) for Les Canaris this season in 13 Ligue 1 matches.
