Ligue 1: Moses Simon scores first Paris FC goal in Marseille defeat

Published on: 24 August 2025

Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon has opened his scoring account for Paris FC, but his goal wasn't enough to prevent a 5-2 defeat against Olympique Marseille on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Simon, who joined Paris FC from Nantes this summer, showed his quality with a superb equalizer in the 58th minute, but Marseille's firepower proved too strong.

Marseille took an early lead with goals from Mason Greenwood and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang within the first 25 minutes.

Paris FC pulled one back through Ilan Kebbal's exquisite strike in the 28th minute, and Simon levelled the score at 2-2 just before the hour mark with a composed finish.

However, Aubameyang restored Marseille's lead midway through the second half, and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg added a fourth goal with a long-range strike.

Robinho Vaz sealed the win for Marseille with a stoppage-time strike, firing past the helpless Paris goalkeeper.

The defeat leaves Paris FC without a point after two games, still searching for their first win in the Ligue 1 season.
