Ligue 1: Moses Simon assist Nantes to a point against Nice

Published on: 20 October 2024

Coming back from a not so good experience with the Super Eagles of Nigeria during the international break, Moses Simon quickly out that behind him, putting on a dazzling display at Nice although he was unlucky to get a goal as another compatriot Victor Orakpo awaits his Ligue 1 debut, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.

Youngster Victor Orakpo who was named on the bench for Nice as he replaced injured country man in Terem Moffi was an unused substitute for the game at Canaries at Stade de la Beaujorie, watching on as they played out a thrilling 1-1 draw.

Goalless at the break after a cagey first half, Matthis Abline scored the opening goal for the Canaries, converting a precise cross from Moses Simon in the 67th minute to break the deadlock. In the final moments of the match, both teams had opportunities to secure the win, but neither could capitalize, resulting in a draw.

This outcome allows Nantes to move up two spots to ninth place, while OGC Nice remains just above them in eighth.

With the result, Moses Simon and Nantes wait for a victory against Nice, a side they are yet to defeat for six consecutive league game rolls on.
