A free agent last two months through, after having parted ways with Barcelona FC on a free move, out his contract expiring and not being renewed, 22-year old Spanish defensive midfielder Oriol Busquets is about to join Ligue 1 rookie side Clermont Foot Auvergne, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Not related to Barça veteran and prominent pitcher Sergio Busquets, the 1999-born canteran has already experienced a tenure outside Catalunya, back in 2019/20, when playing for Dutch club Twente Enschede on a season-long loan spell. Soon to be announced by Les Lanciers, Busquets, suitable as a centre-back as well, capped once for Spanish Under-21 national team, back in 2019, but never really managed to grasp a proper position into Barcelona FC first-team ranks.
