Spain's Minister of Health stated on Wednesday that the maximum authorized attendance for sporting events in September has been raised to 60%.
At a press conference, Carolina Darias said that the cap on crowds at outdoor stadiums will be raised from 40% to 50% and that the ceiling on crowds at indoor venues would be raised from 30% to 40%.
She mentioned La Liga and the premier basketball league (ACB) in particular.
Darias went on to say that the decision to follow the recommendations or impose a lesser ceiling would be up to the various regions of Spain.
According to her, the measure went into force immediately and covers "the full month of September."
