Marc Cucurella has been offered short break till next month, according to Getafe coach Michel.

Cucurella competed at the under-21 European Championships earlier this summer, capturing a silver medal with La Roja before traveling to Tokyo for the Olympics.

Following his involvement in the Olympics, the winger returned to Getafe ahead of the new season with the intention of taking a rest during the next international break.

However, after a minor injury worsened following Getafe's defeat to Valencia on La Liga's opening night, the decision was made to send Cucurella – who has been linked with a transfer to Brighton this summer – on holiday immediately so that he may heal mentally as well as physically.

Getafe boss Michel revealed in his press conference: “He had a niggle that became a risk after Valencia.

“We had tried to find a solution and as we were going to give him holidays after Barcelona, we have decided to give him holidays (now) so that he can recover fully.”
