This LaLiga season is complicated for Barcelona after a stagnant contract with Ilaix Moriba. Now the wonderkid becomes the main target of Manchester City in the next transfer window.
The financial crisis forced Ronald Koeman to depend on any young player from El Barca academy. There are several La Masia products who join the main squad such as Ansu Fati, Oscar Mingueza, and of course Moriba.
The Blaugrana prodigy showed his true potential with 18 appearances before the end of 2020-21 season. Koeman also indicated faith in the teenage midfielder after a contribution with a goal and three assists.
But, unfortunately the young talent who also believed in the Paul Pogba incarnation seems not interested to stay. Moriba already entered his final year of his contract this summer.
According to Mundo Deportivo, this gave Manchester City a big chance to seduce the player. Pep Guardiola's side feels optimistic to get the player's signature by offering a bigger salary than Barca.
Another report said, Moriba wanted to leave after a plea to get a bigger salary was rejected. Barcelona cannot fulfill the player's wish because of the €1,2 billion debts.
Besides Manchester City, there are several clubs which are interested in Ilaix Moriba. Mundo Deportivo added that both Chelsea and RB Leipzig want to buy the Barcelona wonderkid next season.
