Barcelona General Director Mateu Alemany, during Memphis Depay's presentation to the media, briefly touched on the situation of those players on the exit path, especially Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic and Umtiti:
"They both have very illustrious careers, but last seasons they didn't have a lot of playing time. We are aware of their situation and we are trying to find them a new place. They are first and foremost interested in finding a team that can guarantee consistent playing time"
Pjanic arrived at Barcelona in 2020, in a swap deal that sent midfielder Arthur to Juventus. With the blaugrana, the Serbian midfielder has only appeared in 19 matches across two seasons, hence the desire to leave the club. Apparently, his former side Juventus are at the door, waiting to see if a return is possible on a cheap deal. We'll see if Pjanic indeed returns to Turin or if he'll go elsewhere this summer.
