Carlo Ancelotti, the Real Madrid coach, shrugged off queries about rumored galactico acquisitions during his pre-match news conference on Saturday, saying he was content working with the players he had.

Real beat Alaves 4-1 in the first weekend of La Liga and will face Levante on Sunday, who drew their first game against Cadiz.

However, many of the inquiries he received were regarding possible signings. Ancelotti, too, began to lose tolerance after a time.

"These are personnel matters; I don't have to discuss them here," he explained.

Ancelotti shrugged off a question about Cristiano Ronaldo, with whom he won the Champions League and Club World Cup during his first spell at Real.

"The subject is finished," Ancelotti said. "We look forward. Everyone at Real Madrid loves CR7. I love him even more, because CR7 has helped me win a lot of the titles I have won."

"This squad, as it is, can compete for everything. We have very big stars here," he said, naming Thibaut Courtois, Dani Carvajal, Nacho, David Alaba, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard. "This squad is full of stars."

But, he added, "the stars have to work together. Stars alone are stars. If they work together, they win titles."
